Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about English lessons with Damien

General Questions

Do I need to speak English already?

Not at all! I work with students at all levels, from complete beginners to advanced speakers. The lessons are tailored to your current level and designed to help you progress at a comfortable pace.

What if I'm shy or afraid of making mistakes?

Many students feel this way at first. I create a relaxed, supportive environment where making mistakes is seen as a natural part of learning. We'll work at your pace, and you'll find your confidence growing with each lesson.

How do online lessons work?

Online lessons take place via Zoom. You'll receive a link before your scheduled lesson. All you need is a device with internet connection, a camera, and a microphone. I'll share learning materials on screen, and we'll interact just as we would in person.

Do you speak Hebrew?

I speak only basic Hebrew. All lessons are conducted in English, which creates an immersive learning environment. However, I'm experienced in teaching beginners and know how to communicate effectively even with students who have limited English.

How long are the lessons?

Standard lessons are 50 minutes long for both online and in-person sessions. The introductory assessment session is 30 minutes.

How often should I take lessons?

For consistent progress, I recommend at least one lesson per week. Some students prefer twice weekly sessions for faster improvement. We can discuss what would work best for your goals and schedule.

Do I need to buy textbooks or materials?

No, all necessary learning materials are provided as part of your lessons at no extra cost. I create and select materials specifically for your needs and interests.

What times are lessons available?

I offer flexible scheduling with morning, afternoon, and evening slots available. Lessons can be arranged Sunday through Thursday, with some availability on Friday mornings.

Practical Information

Do I need to commit to a certain number of lessons?

No long-term commitment is required. You can pay as you go for individual lessons, though many students choose to book lessons in packages of 4 or 8 for convenience.

What happens if I need to cancel a lesson?

I understand that schedules can change. Lessons canceled with at least 24 hours' notice can be rescheduled at no additional cost. For cancellations with less notice, I try to be flexible when possible.

Where do in-person lessons take place?

In-person lessons are held in Yavne, Israel, at an agreed-upon location that works for both of us. We can discuss convenient options when you book your session.

How do I get started?

The best way to start is to book a 30-minute introductory assessment session for ₪50. This gives us a chance to meet, discuss your goals, assess your current level, and see if we're a good fit. You can book this through the contact page.
